September 2nd, 2006 - Mary Flynn, from Knockanafalla, won the Guinness Champion of Fans on TG4.

Mary was declared the winner of the competition when she received the most votes by phone and text at the end of an hour long live broadcast on TG4 on the eve of the All-Ireland Hurling Final.
A delighted Mary was congratulated by the host for the evening Micháel O’Muircheartaigh when the winner was announced. She received the trophy, the first bit of national hurling silverware to come back over the Suir in 14 years.

Along with the cup Mary received: 2 premium level tickets in Croke Prk for every All-Ireland Hurling Championship match for 2007 and 2008 and €10,000!

You can view Mary's 90-second Audition, 5 minute clip of creating a human flag in Carrickbeg in the week before Waterford dumped Tipp out of the championship in July and also the final at the
Guinness website.
